well for some reason these pictures loaded out of order, but you can try and sort them out as i tell the story of our month. i have had so many wonderful memories of our 2008 december that i will write it in two parts because blogger wouldn't let me download anymore pictures. this month started out busy as usual. i have blogged so many times in my mind, but they never managed to make it to the web, so here we go!
dec. 1st we headed off to a field trip at columbia college. kyle had asked me if there were any classrooms there because he had never seen any. it donned on me that the only reason the kids had been to the college was for soccer practice/games, so i immediately emailed dearma to arrange a tour. we had a great time. i was amazed how much the campus had changed since i was a student. we visited raleigh's aunt connie's office during the tour, and she showed us plans for many up and coming changes. by the time my kids are able to be students there, it will be all together different.
dec. 2nd was my mom's and my birthday. i had a wonderful day. my family worked hard pampering me from morning until night. friends and family called and stopped by, making the day extra special. my mom came up for a soup and salad lunch, and the girls gave us pedicures. despite the rumor that i hate parties, i just prefer quietness on my birthday, something that is rare in my life. thank you to all who made that possible for me.
dec. 6th and 7th were cody's final traveling soccer games. he played a tournament in oakdale, and the weather was foggy and cold. it was a bit of a bitter sweet weekend for some of us. several of cody's teammates have been together for years moving in and out of teams together, and our boys are growing up and moving on. after many years of traveling ball, this was the last year. most boys now move on to high school ball, and cody has decided to homeschool next year. crazy california laws limit our resources so i'm not sure what the future holds as far as sports. he made it clear that he doesn't want to go to high school just to play soccer. i applaud his understanding of knowing what he wants, but will miss watching his talent on the field. i will cherish the many, many memories.
