we have been so busy lately, my head almost spun right off. i was such a zombie over the weekend that i need to re-grocery shop. kyle and i headed out saturday to get groceries for the week, and after two hours of floundering around town, came home with very little. for some reason i just can't quite connect my thoughts or stay focused. is it an age thing? maybe the heat. i'm not sure, but the days of operating without lists are gone!
i guess i always feel this way the week after VBS. i think the hustle and bustle of getting everyone out of the house fed, dressed, clean, and teeth brushed by 8:15 for five days, after two months of vacation wears me out. and, somehow i managed to get myself a job this year working the cafe', serving a variety of foofoo coffee drinks to the teaching staff. i must say, it was a fun job. i enjoyed seeing the excitement that a little mocha could bring a frazzled teacher, who was trying to keep order within a group of well charged kids, and keep a tight schedule. the week flew by as usual. (more on that later)
i'm also stunned that august has arrived. while it was still july, school seemed far away. now that the calendar has flipped a page, i feel pressured to get going. i have shelves to organize, curriculum to buy etc.. etc.. looking forward, this month will fly by as well. candice starts soccer today, so that means practice four nights a week between her and cody, softball for raleigh on fridays, and a variety of other things.
in the midst of the business however, i love this season of life. watching my family shine in the desires and gifts God has given them brings me much pleasure. without so many things to do i fear life might get boring. i guess summer is going just where it's supposed to. moving on each day into the next phase of life.
so i pray, help me Lord to enjoy even the crazy, busy, zombie days. for before i know it they too will be gone. but please, help me keep up! lol.
